Work History

Municipal Government

I am currently employed with my municipal government and have been since September 2013.

I started out as an ice skate patroller, where I supervised public skates to ensure customer satisfaction and safety.

I "moved up" (same job title) to assisting full time employees with nightly duties including maintenance and janitorial for the arena.

I was then promoted to a Facility Attendant and given the keys to 4 arena's. As a Facility Attendant, my duties were to supervise/manage the facility and rentals as well as provide the needed maintenance and janitorial duties required for my shift.

This was during the summer time because the ice in the arena's was taken out, allowing us to rent the arena for lacrosse and ball hockey. This didn't require a full time employee to supervise the refrigeration system to keep the ice, ice.

I now sit comfortably at my own arena that does not have ice year round and have had this luxury for the last 4 years.

Summer is usually my less busy season.

Lacrosse is one of my biggest rentals but it is mostly an outdoor sport. Once summer comes around, most of those rentals head to the fields, leaving me with less hours.

Recently, I have opted for an opportunity with one of our outdoor pools to be a cashier to add more hours to my summer season.

Because of my time employed, and my education, I have been a source to converse about ideas for the pool with the supervisor to assist future plans.

He cares about the facility and the patrons, and has learned the patron's schedules by knowing the rental groups and their requirements. He takes pride in the facility, and it shows through the cleanliness and input from the very different user groups. He consistently communicates feedback with the building that require service requests, supply orders and has an eye for detail with items the don't seem 'just right'."
